Jan M. Ryd, the Center Owner for Lee Myles Transmissions & Auto Care, is a self described “gear head”. Rebuilding cars, jeeps, motorcycles, gopeds, toasters and, anything mechanical. A number of years ago, while toying with the idea of starting a new business, it seemed a natural idea to open an automotive shop.

Jan and Karen opened their center in June of 2004, with the original intention of being a “transmission only” repair facility. They had been advised by many people that many shops were struggling and that their timing to open another shop might not be so good. They were determined to make their transmission shop successful despite the odds. Business was slow to start but soon began to build.

Striving to be honest to their customers, they knew that all transmission problems did not necessitate a tranny rebuild. Many of their customers were blown away when their vehicles were fixed with a valve body, a solenoid, or a simple exhaust repair. Especially when they had been told by other shops that their transmission would have to be rebuilt. 

Because of this honesty, they began to develop a firm customer base who asked what other services Lee Myles could provide. They realized that they had the opportunity to expand their business and started to take action to do so. They put on two additional techs to round out their staff. They developed service plans and preventative maintenance plans to better service their ever increasing customer base.

Now in their fifth year, their biggest focus is in keeping the quality service they have become famous for, at it’s highest level.
